Chapter Ten: (i) These two dimensions of faith (a. in the Infinite Encompassing Linear Light, and b. in the Finite Permeating Linear Light) are what we accept upon ourselves with the two verses (a) “Hear o Israel, G-d is our G-d, G-d is one” (in the Infinite Encompassing Linear Light), and (b) “Blessed be the name of the glory of His kingdom for ever and ever” (in the Finite Permeating Linear Light).
(ii) Which these two faiths are the: (a) Supernal Knowledge - creatio nihilo ex, in which G-d is Something and creations are nihilo, and (b) Inferior Knowledge - creatio ex nihilo, in which G-d is called nihilo (defying anything we can categorize as a defined something), and all creations are called ex - a defined something. (iii) Thus, the two levels of faith are actually two levels of self-negation: (a) Self-negation of his very existence (beingness), and (b) self-negation only of his ego, but not of his very existence (beingness).
(iv) Nevertheless, in general, all concepts of faith are encompassing (and not digested and internalized), as we see from the fact that (-Brochos 63a - Ayin Yakov), “Even at the very mouth of the tunnel (breach), the thief calls out to the Merciful One (G-d)”. He is stealing, but he has faith in G-d and is praying to G-d that he not be caught. This can only happen when his faith is encompassing, and not internalized and grasped.
