Chapter Five: (i) Israel’s primary faith is in the Infinite Encompassing Circular Light. Note: The Previous Rebbe is going to take the next eight chapters explaining this in great detail. (ii) Man is the Small World, and the world itself is the Big World, and all that exists in the Big World exists within the Small World. Thus (- Ecclesiastics 3:11), “And also the world He put into their hearts”, meaning that man can refine all that exists in the world.
(iii) As man has a soul which is his lifeforce, so too, there is the lifeforce of the world --as it is made up of all the different levels and parts, as that of man--, which is the Finite Permeating Linear Light, which is the individual lifeforce of every individual being of the world, with a vast difference between the head and the feet. (iv) While the head has the virtue, the height, nevertheless, this is noticable through the feet (the power of standing up). And so too, the foot has a virtue over the head in that it can bring to head to where it can not go on its own.
Thus, we understand how there is, through Israel, the elevation of Moses, “and they shall take to you the olive oil”. This is as the mystical secret of the verse, “600,000 ‘feet’ that ‘I’ am in their ‘midst’”, which mystically means that through Moses feeding Israel -the ‘feet’- with Faith and the power to serve with self-sacrifice (beyond Wisdom (intellect)) Moses, who is the dimension of Wisdom, now receives the Infinite Encompassing Circular Light, the “‘I’ - Supernal Crown”, that it permeate to be within Moses internally (rather than just encompassing), “midst”.
