Shevi'is, Chapter 10, Mishnah 4. In the previous section we dealt with the concept of the prozbul and with its enactment, and this Mishnah teaches us the actual wording of the prozbul - the language of the document itself.
The Wording of the Prozbul:
The Mishnah opens: "Zehu gufo shel prozbul" - this is the body of the prozbul document, and this is the language a person writes in it:
"Mosrani lachem ish peloni u'peloni ha'dayanim she'b'makom peloni" - the lender hands over his debts to the judges so-and-so and so-and-so, the judges in such-and-such a place.
"She'kol chov she'yesh li she'egbenu kol zeman she'ertzeh" - any debt that he has, where people owe him money, it will be in his power to collect it whenever he wishes.
"V'ha'dayanim chosmim l'matah o ha'eidim" - at the bottom of the document the judges sign, or else the witnesses sign it.
In summary: Either way, this signature activates the concept that all of the lender's documents, all of his loan documents, and even those that are not documented at all - even a verbal loan - are all handed over to beis din. From now on they are under the responsibility of beis din, and therefore the cancellation of debts in the Shemittah year does not affect them.
