Berachos, Chapter 9, Mishnah 1. This chapter deals with a series of different berachos, and the first mishnah in it opens with the berachos recited over places.
A berachah over a place where miracles occurred:
One who sees a place where miracles were performed for the Jewish people - and likewise one who knows of such places, such as the place where the Sea of Reeds was split or the place where they crossed the Jordan - recites: "She'asah nissim la'avoseinu bamakom hazeh" - "Who performed miracles for our forefathers in this place."
A berachah over a place from which idolatry was uprooted:
Here the mishnah shifts direction and establishes a separate and different text of a berachah, one that is recited with Hashem's Name and kingship, and in it a distinction is drawn between Eretz Yisrael and outside the Land:
In Eretz Yisrael: "Baruch... she'akar avodah zarah me'artzenu" - "Blessed... Who uprooted idolatry from our land." The Gemara cites a beraisa that adds to this text: "Just as it was uprooted from this place, so may it be uprooted from the entire Jewish people, and may He turn the hearts of those who serve idolatry to serve Him."
Outside the Land: "She'akar avodah zarah min hamakom hazeh" - "Who uprooted idolatry from this place," and one continues in the same language: "Just as it was uprooted from this place, so may it be uprooted from all places, and may You turn the hearts of those who served it to the service of Hashem."
In summary: In this mishnah we learned two berachos recited over places: the berachah over a place where miracles were performed for the Jewish people - "She'asah nissim la'avoseinu bamakom hazeh" ("Who performed miracles for our forefathers in this place"); and the berachah over a place from which idolatry was uprooted, which is recited with Hashem's Name and kingship, and whose wording changes between Eretz Yisrael ("from our land") and outside the Land ("from this place"), together with the addition of the beraisa asking that idolatry be uprooted from all places and that the hearts of those who serve it be turned to the service of Hashem.
