"Room" one hundred fifty-two in the hall of Hayom Yom.

Wednesday, 23 Nissan, Isru Chag, eight days of the Omer, 5703.

Shiurim: Chumash, Acharei Mot, Revii, with Rashi's commentary.

Tehillim, 23 of the month, we say from chapter 108 up to and including chapter 112.

Tanya, we are in today's shiur in chapter 42. The daily shiur begins with the words "vehineh kol", on page 120, and concludes on page 61 with the words "leyodei binah".

The daily teaching is a short teaching originating from a sichah that the Rebbe Rayatz delivered on Acharon Shel Pesach of the year 5695. There, the Rebbe Rayatz recounted a conversation that took place between the Admor HaEmtza'i and Rabbi Mordechai of Chernobyl, during a wedding that took place in Zhlubin, and there the Admor HaEmtza'i asked Rabbi Mordechai of Chernobyl if on Acharon Shel Pesach he feels the illumination of Moshiach; and they had a conversation about the matter.

In the following passage the Rebbe Rayatz says, that this conversation about feeling the revelation of Moshiach was for people of spiritual stature - what the Admor HaEmtza'i asked Rabbi Mordechai of Chernobyl, and lofty matters were discussed there. But not everyone relates to these high levels, and nevertheless there is something in the matter of the revelation of Moshiach on Acharon Shel Pesach that belongs to each and every individual, to every Jew. And this comes next, in the passage before us, in which the Rebbe explains the meaning of the revelation of the illumination of Moshiach on Acharon Shel Pesach, which belongs to every Jew. This teaching was said on Isru Chag - the day on which we have already left Pesach, but we still connect it to Pesach, before the transition to the regular weekdays of the summer period.

Let us read the teaching: "The concept exists that Acharon Shel Pesach is a revelation of Moshiach, which belongs to all of Israel" - how this matter of the revelation of Moshiach belongs to each and every Jew; where the matter is expressed in the life of each individual in his avodah of Hashem, and what he receives from the fact that the illumination of Moshiach shines on Acharon Shel Pesach.

And so he explains: In the sichah the Rebbe Rayatz says that in Tishrei, although it has high holidays, the transition from Tishrei to the winter is a gradual transition - and as it is written "And Yaakov went on his way", an orderly transition; but from Pesach the transition is much harder.

Why? To this he says: "The concept of Pesach is 'skipping'" - Pesach is a holiday that has in it the concept of skipping; for indeed the Holy One, Blessed be He, "pasach", skipped, and the name of the holiday "Pesach" is from the language of skipping, which indicates a G-dly revelation that is above the ordinary and above the nature of creation. "And a night of watching" - Pesach is called a night of watching, a night guarded from destructive forces; meaning, that this is a revelation that has no connection whatsoever to matters that are the opposite of good, and they have no contact on this lofty day. "And generally freedom is prominent" - generally, Pesach is a feeling of freedom, that a person is freed from all the shackles and from all the inappropriate matters.

And when we are during the course of Pesach, we are as if hovering in a most supernal feeling. "And afterwards one is thrust into worldly matters" - after Pesach, after these uplifted days, you land into the world, into the regular weekdays; and how is the transition formed from uplifted days to gray and regular days? The matter could result in a landing and complete disconnection.

"And for this is the revelation of Moshiach" - for this purpose we receive the revelation of Moshiach on Acharon Shel Pesach. What is the concept of the revelation of Moshiach, and how does it belong to every Jew - what does it give to everyone? "The strength given to enable walking in the world" - this day, Acharon Shel Pesach, gives a Jew power and strength, so that even when he descends after Pesach, after he detached from the loftiness of the day and moves to regular days, he will not, Heaven forbid, have a fall and a crash. The revelation of Moshiach on this day gives strength to every Jew to translate the loftiness, the freedom and the "night of watching" of Pesach into the life of Hayom Yom - and to live in the orderly routine of the summer weekdays, but with that same loftiness he had on Pesach.

In the first sichah of Acharon Shel Pesach of the year 5744 the Rebbe spoke at great length - this was the topic of the sichah - how Acharon Shel Pesach is like an intermediary between the uplifted days of Pesach and the transition to the days of the year; an intermediary that gives you the ability to go down below and internalize this in a good and healthy manner.
